Joyeux anniversaire dotVinum

The Web is dead according to Chris Anderson (Wire Magazine)

"Two decades after its birth, the World Wide Web is in decline, as simpler, sleeker services—think apps—are less about the searching and more about the getting. You wake up and check your email on your bedside iPad—that's one app. During breakfast you browse Facebook, Twitter, and The New York Times—three more apps. On the way to the office, you listen to a podcast on your smartphone. Another app. At work, you scroll through RSS feeds in a reader and have Skype and IM conversations. More apps. At the end of the day, you come home, make dinner while listening to Pandora, play some games on Xbox Live, and watch a movie on Netflix's streaming service. You've spent the day on the Internet—but not on the Web. And you are not alone."

There will be no .CAR Top-Level Domain by ATX

According to my source :

"...the .car efforts were always less of a move to a new TLD than an attempt to raise awareness within the industry of vehicle specific needs for user experiences. ATX was concerned that failure to plan for the support of these interfaces would result in poor implementation and government legislation. As such we are making no efforts to submit .car".

Anoucement dated May 19, 2008.

"THE FUTURE OF DOMAINS" according to DDF

"Trading in domains has always been promising : this is more than ever the case today, as a rapidly growing number of people and companies move into the Web with their business and popularity increasingly depending on the amount of traffic they manage to draw to their sites. Companies are willing to pay huge sums for traffic and online advertising- no wonder then that domain names have become important in their role as valuable assets."

.WOW TLD Project ?

I check the press and I read the video game "World Of Warcraft" counts 11.5 registered users. Players monthly pay to have an account and play WOW online. I also read players pay for virtual goods within the game.
Wouldn't they want to pay to be identified as a WOW player with a specific domain name ? To publish their profile for example : www.avatar.WOW.

My .WOW concept consists in allowing players to register their .WOW domain name within the game.

Note I am open to develop this great communication project with BLIZZARD.

Did I say "communication" ?

Just imagine 11.5 registered users promoting the game "World Of Warcraft" in their URL and ... be listed in Google. Cheaper than TV communication isn't it ?
